Customer H&S COVID-19 Assurance Process

G4S Cash Solutions are fully committed to a Safe Return to Work for all. In doing so we have established safe measures to ensure that our staff can carry out their duties and that each staff member is COVID-19 Secure Work Safe. 

Below you will find further details of the measures G4S has in place and we are confident our Customers will find this assurance of value and know that all our staff, from the start of each day, will always conduct their day and attend customer sites in as safe a manner as possible.

We have completed a full suitable and sufficient COVID-19 Risk Assessment which is consulted with the staff members and Trade Union Safety Representatives to ensure that COVID-19 work safe process is in place

We can confirm that our business within Cash Solutions Ltd UK/NI have a full COVID-19 Cross Audit to provide Assurance that we have met all the relevant criteria and processes to make our staff and customers safe

Before coming to work

Guidance has be communicated to all staff members on how they identify any of the COVID-19 symptoms, and before proceeding to work, if any staff member has any identified symptoms and/or family members are to contact NHS 111 to seek & follow further advice

Before entering the main building of the workplace, all staff members will be temperature checked at a sterile test area, where sanitising and protection measures are applied. When temperature check has been passed & completed, staff member will be required to further confirm they do not have any relevant symptoms, a log will be taken, and then the employee can proceed into their workplace

For our workplaces we have adequate supplies of sanitiser and protocols, guidance, posters and briefing material under our ‘CASH SAFE’ initiative covering;

  • Keeping hands clean & regular hand washing techniques
  • Covering coughs & sneezes
  • Avoid touching face
  • Staff & social distancing
  • Regular cleaning of surfaces, workstations & equipment before and after use, including our vehicles.
  • Stay home if sick

For our crews that provide a service to our customers and attend their sites for collections & deliveries, additional measures are taken before crews go ‘out on the road’ to ensure neither the staff nor our customers are placed at any increased risk.

  • Carry out a COVID-19 Fit-to-Work Assessment, resulting in an appropriate written Declaration. The driver will be able to present this to the Customer to confirm that they do not present any COVID-19 symptoms and are considered COVID-19 free
  • Confirmation that the vehicle has been cleaned and crew & vehicle supplied with hand sanitiser
  • The crew members have all been briefed on regular hand washing techniques and sanitiser process and to ensure they regularly wash their work clothes at recommended temperatures
  • Where attending crews wear full blue G4S uniform & protective helmet, the helmet visor is always worn in the down position and offers further protection to the crew member when entering the customer premises, and regular sterilising of their visors
  • As well as our our crew using their hand sanitiser, where additionally a Customer requires hand sanitiser to be used at any entrance to their premises and they make this available, our crew will comply
  • Customer’s social distancing measures will be followed & adhered to as far as is practicable in order to fulfil the cash collection/delivery in a safe & reasonable manner.

Research shows that cash transactions pose no more risk than other daily activities, including card payments, especially when partnered with the hygiene protocols put forward by WHO.

The Bank of England have stated: “Like any other surface that large numbers of people come into contact with, notes can carry bacteria or viruses. However, the risk posed by handling a polymer note is no greater than touching any other common surfaces such as handrails, doorknobs or credit cards.
