New Risk Management appointment
G4S Risk Management, a leading provider of risk mitigation and secure support services, has appointed Simon Baker as its new Director, Crisis Management, with a focus on further development of G4S’s kidnap for ransom, extortion and crisis management planning and response practice.
Simon joins G4S from Control Risks where he had worked since 1994, latterly as Director, Confidential Response Services and member of its Executive Committee. In this role Simon was responsible to the Board for the running of the response department, managing a team of 20 which dealt with issues such as kidnap, extortion and international problem solving for governments commercial customers and high net worth families around the world.
Simon’s previous roles with Control Risks included: General Manager for the Andean Region, based in Bogotá; Operations Manager, Confidential Response Services; and Crisis Management and Response Consultant. Prior to joining Control Risks, Simon was a Detective Inspector in the Royal Hong Kong Police Force, having served in the Metropolitan Police from 1983 to 1987.
