G4S is pleased to announce the launch of a new G4S Africa technological innovation – Mobile Banking Solution (MBS)

In short, MBS is a portable, fully equipped, Plug and Play, secured ATM unit that can be tailored to the customer’s needs – or as we would like to call it, our “Bank-in-a-Box” solution.
The idea is that our customer’s employees would be able to securely withdraw wages and be assisted in performing basic banking functions, as First Time Bankers (FTB’s) in remote locations.
The “Bank-in-a-Box” solution is not seen as a replacement for a traditional bank branch, but rather a secured semi-permanent cash processing facility, that will save our customers and their employees, time and money. The first prototype of the Mobile Banking Solution was launched in South Africa in November last year and we are now ready to showcase this new innovation to our customers in the broader African market.
I am very proud to say that the actual unit was designed by G4S Africa and manufactured under our guidance by Weatherhaven RCS. The concept is unique to the G4S Africa Region and utilises some of G4S’s main service offerings, including remote Cash Solutions, Secure Solutions, CCTV Monitoring and Response, First Line Maintenance, Facility Management and Technology. It is built to an industrial strength and contains as standard:

- Industrial air conditioning
- Industrial diesel generator
- Underfloor UPS

- 2 x G4S ATM (internal and external)
Options include:
- Staff toilets (internal or external)
- Solar power panels
G4S Africa has invested in a demo model, which is permanently located at Weaherhaven RCS in Centurion. The model will be used to showcase the unit’s functionalities to potential customers.
