G4S, the world's leading secure solutions group, today announces the acquisition by G4S Applied Security S.A. of Detcon S.A. ("Detcon”). Detcon is dedicated to the design, engineering and installation of fire detection, CCTV, building management and access control systems. Accordingly, it complements the acquisition of Control Systems Argentina S.A. in October 2009 by expanding the group’s presence within its current customer base as well as providing access to other targets which are currently using complementary technologies.

Detcon was acquired from Alberto Jorge Alvarez and has gross assets of US$ 2.3 million and had sales revenue of US$ 4.5 million in 2010.
