G4S South Africa's long-standing employee, Michelle Joubert, promoted to National Logistics & Procurement Manager after 23 years with the company
Michelle Joubert is a long-standing G4S employee in South Africa and was promoted to the role of National Logistics & Procurement Manager in October 2022.
She says: “I enjoy planning and coordinating new site startups and price negotiations. I also take the lead in innovative cost saving drives.”
Michelle’s career with G4S spans 23 years and counting, starting as a Personal Assistant to the Regional Director in 1999.
She continues: “I started off in the Business Development team. They were energetic, focused and kept me on my toes – they formed and molded me into the person that I’ve become today and made me realize that teamwork and collaboration go hand in hand.”
Michelle’s drive and determination saw her go on to receive a number of promotions and move across different business functions. Her roles included Office Administrator, Logistics Administrator, and National Fleet Manager where she managed and maintained 800 vehicles.
Prior to her latest appointment Michelle was a Regional Logistics Manager, with responsibility for managing and overseeing the regional procurement and logistics, facilities management, and fleet management functions.
On why she’s stayed at G4S for more than two decades, Michelle says: “G4S believes in training and developing its staff and I always raised a hand for all development and internal courses.” She has undertaken courses in business writing, time management and advanced PowerPoint to name a few.
Michelle adds that she’s also learnt a lot of life lessons from her time at G4S: “Believing in yourself, creating your own opportunities, listening more, caring about your staff and remembering that everyone in your team matters are all things that I try to practice on a daily basis.”
