At its recent annual meeting, the Estonian Association of Security Companies (ETEL) announced G4S’ Edgart Jazõkov as the Security Worker of the Year 2022 in recognition of rescuing seven people from a burning house.

While on patrol in the early morning hours of 21 May 2022 in the city of Tartu, Edgart, a patrol security guard, and a co-worker who no longer works at G4S spotted a fire on the second floor of a residential building they were passing by. While there was a person communicating with rescue services Edgart and his teammate sprang into action to assist.

They rushed into the building that was thick with smoke, pounding on doors and making as much noise as possible to wake the sleepy and confused residents. Had it not been for their quick actions, the residents could have perished in the blaze. 

G4S Estonia also awarded a Lifesaver of the Year medal for his heroic actions. Congratulations Edgart on this recognition and thank you for your heroic actions.
